Born in Toronto and raised in a Jamaican household, Sharon grew up surrounded by music, movement, and cultural expression. Long before stepping into formal dance training, rhythm was already a part of her everyday life.
Sharon began her Latin and Afro dance journey in 2015 under the guidance of Edwin Martinez, where she quickly discovered a deep love for Salsa, Bachata, and especially Kizomba—her first and forever dance love. What began as a personal challenge later in life evolved into a powerful passion for teaching adults that it’s never too late to start something new.
She is certified to teach Kizomba through ALC Dance Studios (Portugal) and the Angolan Ministry of Culture, and also holds multiple Zumba® and STRONG Nation™ fitness certifications. Sharon’s teaching style is known for being warm, encouraging, and beginner-friendly, while still offering depth and precision for more experienced dancers.
At the heart of Sharon’s approach is confidence-building. She believes dance should feel welcoming, expressive, and empowering—especially for adults stepping outside their comfort zone. Through Dame Más Dance, Sharon is committed to creating a space where people feel supported, connected, and proud of their progress, both on and off the dance floor.

Edwin Martinez’s love of dance began early. Born in Panama, he started dancing at the age of four, training in Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Samba, Cumbia, and Típico at the National School of Dance. His early foundation in both technique and musicality continues to shape his teaching style today.
After moving to Canada, Edwin founded Panamanian Latin Street Dancing in 2013 and went on to teach across multiple studios and fitness spaces in Thunder Bay. He is certified to teach Kizomba through ALC Dance Studios (Portugal) and the Angolan Ministry of Culture, bringing strong cultural context and technical clarity to his instruction.
Known to many as DJ EZ Eddie, Edwin also curates the music and atmosphere for Dame Más Dance socials and events. His deep understanding of rhythm, phrasing, and musical structure allows dancers to not just learn steps, but truly connect to the music.
Edwin’s teaching style is patient, grounded, and detail-oriented. He focuses on building strong foundations, clear lead-and-follow communication, and confident movement, helping dancers feel both capable and connected on the dance floor.
